Well its about time and we are only delighted that the Headford Community Playground will be officially opened at 12.30pm this Sunday November 27th.  The state-of-the-art playground incluces a fully lit walking track on the grounds of Moyne Villa FC.

Great work by everyone involved and those who contributed to getting the project completed.

All welcome on Sunday.

There has been a spate of burglaries in the areas surrounding Headford in the past week. Gardai are investigating three robberies where raiders ransacked properties in Ballyrickard and Glencorrib. Thousands of euro worth of gold jewellery was stolen and some cash. Gardai believe all three incidents occured as darkness fell last evening. This follows a break-in at ‘The Trading Post’ pub and filling station in Headford early on Monday 7th November.

Please be vigilant about keeping doors and windows locked both when you are in the house and when you are not. If you know of neighbours that are away on holidays, make sure to keep an eye on the property as best you can.

If you spot anything suspicious please call your local Garda station and have it checked out. Better to be safe :-)

The Areas we hope to have represented are as follows: Ellagh Estate, Bridge St. Gortnamona, Deerpark Woods, Liss, Rockhill, Clooneen, Windfort, Mountross, Rafee, Ross , Ellagh, Crosswood, Keekill, Cahermacnally, High St, Ashthorn Avenue, New St. Castleview, Meadow Hill, Cloughanover, Keernaun, Cordara, Cong Road, Culleen, Crosaun, Farran, Ballyconlaught, Ballyhale.

Inspector M. O’Dwyer and members of the Garda will be in attendance. In the present climate it is in the interest of each one living in those areas that we get enough support to revive the community alert, so your attendance at this meeting would be greatly appreciated.

Moyne Villa FC are currently constructing a new playground and amenity walk. The  project is hoped to be completed by late October 11. This will provide a state-of-the-art playground and a fully lit walking track for the Headford community and surrounding areas.
